Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

Absolutely! At A Little Joy, we understand the importance of gentle care for sensitive skin. Our unique formulations, enriched with natural ingredients like goat milk and honey, are designed to soothe and nourish even the most delicate skin types. Say goodbye to irritation and hello to a radiant glow! However, we highly recommend doing a small patch test if you have sensitive skin. 

What if my tallow cream feels grainy?

Storing tallow cream in an environment with varying temperatures (e.g., too warm or too cold) can cause the fats to separate or crystallize, leading to graininess. It is totally fine to use it and it will melt quickly as soon as you start rubbing onto your skin.

What if there is a water droplet in my magnesium tallow?

It is normal to find some water droplets or separation of water from magnesium cream due to the warm weather. Just mix it up before you apply.

What is the white stuff on the bar soap?

Soda ash forms on cold process soap when unsaponified lye reacts with naturally-occurring carbon dioxide in the air. It doesn't affect the final bars and the soap is harmless and safe to use.

Shipping Policy

Free Shipping over $100

We offer free shipping within the U.S. and U.S. territories on orders over $100. This free shipping option will be sent via USPS Ground Advantage and does not include USPS Priority or UPS. Orders must total $100 or more after discounts are applied to qualify.

We ship Monday-Friday except the Summer months. We ship only on Mondays and Tuesdays during warmer months for minimal hot temperature exposure.

Temperature-Sensitive Products

Our products contain oils, butters, and waxes that may melt in high temperatures. In the summer months we do our best to ship our tallow-based creams in ice packs. However these creams may arrive to you in a melted or liquid state. You have consented to the possibility of them arriving in this state and refunds will not be issued based on consistency upon arrival. If your cream arrives in a melted or liquid state please set it upright in a cool room or refrigerator until it solidifies. The quality of the product will remain intact even if the consistency that it arrived in was different than expected.  

During winter, liquid products may freeze. If this occurs, rest assured the formula will remain the same after thawing and can still be used.

Local pick-ups available in the Treasure Valley in Idaho

We offer a local pick-up option at our Eagle, Idaho location for orders placed online. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive a notification that it is ready for pick-up. We kindly ask that you collect your order within 30 days.

What if my package is missing or arrives damaged?

For missing packages:

We highly encourage using shipping protection, especially for large orders. If you believe your order has been lost in transit, please reach out to us.

For damaged packages:

Although we always do our best to package your orders for safety, anything can happen during shipment. We highly encourage using shipping protection, especially for large orders. In the rare instances where damage does happen, please reach out to us and include photos of the damaged items. We will arrange for a replacement.

Can I return or exchange my products?

Due to the nature of our products, all purchases are final. We cannot accept refunds, exchanges, or returns unless it is due to our error.

If your order is lost, arrives damaged, or has an error, please contact us within 14 days from the delivery date of your order so we can assist you. If more than 14 days have passed since your order, we are unable to offer a refund or replacement. 

Refunds are restricted. Our Team will always be happy to help find a specialized solution for your circumstance. Every product is made in small batches daily for maximum quality and freshness, so we are restricted from accepting returned products for refunds.

What should I do if I experience irritation?

We provide a full ingredient list for every product. Please be sure to read it for any possible allergens before ordering. We are inculpable for any adverse reaction or allergy to our products. We stand behind the caliber and integrity of every ingredient and product we craft, and we share all product ingredients on our website to foster personal discretion while shopping. In the rare case of a reaction, please contact us for dilution tips and creative alternatives for product use.

Please perform a patch test before using any of our products. If you have purchased multiple products, we recommend introducing each one gradually and one at a time into your skincare routine. If you experience any reactions, please discontinue use for at least a week before performing another patch test and trying to use the product again. If you continuously experience any irritation, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional.

We understand that each person has a unique preference in scents and textures. However as a small handcrafted business we cannot offer returns or exchanges for a dislike of scents, textures, or colors. 

What is the shelf life of your clean beauty products?

Our skincare products are freshly made and have an average shelf life of six months. Soaps have a shelf life of one year once opened. Many products last longer than their shelf date, but it’s up to the customer to check the product. Since we don’t use preservatives or chemicals, our products aren’t meant to last beyond a reasonable shelf life.

How can I store my tallow products for maximum freshness?

Our products are made without preservatives, additives, and chemical ingredients. To maintain product integrity, avoid adding water and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps to maintain their integrity and ensures that you enjoy the full benefits of our lovingly crafted formulations for as long as possible!
